Report[edit | edit source]

Welcome to the second race of the season! Everyone is set on the grid, and we are about to start. The lights come on... and we're off and away! Good start by Simonsson who is able to keep the lead, behind him there's a big fight over 2nd with Mezei, A. Wilson and Johansson. A good start from Aldenberg and Mastronardi sees them move up into 5th and 6th respectively.

Lap 10: Oh dear, it looks like there is an issue with Hernandez! Yes, there definitely is! It looks like his brakes have given up on him! That is really unfortunate, he will have to retire the car.

Meanwhile, the fight for 2nd is still on. A. Wilson and Mezei are fighting, and oh! A small error from Wilson forces both drivers off the track. The rejoin behind Mastronardi in 5th and 6th now. It looks like A. Wilson has some minor damage though and he will have to pit for repairs. He rejoins in 15th place, behind Correa, Ling and Stangl and only ahead of the two Silver Arrows cars.

Just in front of these drivers, there is a battling group of Veres, Almeida and Magnussen. They are fighting over the final few points now! Of course, they all probably wished to be higher up in the order, but any points they can get will be good to them.

BIG OFF! It's Philipp Stangl! The German driver was not having the best of weekends and now, on lap 16, it has become even worse! Luckily, his car is close to a safe location and there is no need for a Safety Car.

We are now into lap 30 and it looks like A. Wilson has not given up on the points yet! He has made his way past Correa and Ling, who are still fighting behind him. If A. Wilson is able to get to the group in front, he might have a shot at the points. His team mate, M. Wilson, is driving in 6th position just ahead of Pretre.

There are still enough battles up and down the field. For second place it is Aldenberg, Johansson and Mastronardi who are all very close in that order, for 6th it is M. Wilson vs. Pretre and for 9th place it is Magnussen, Almeida, Veres and A. Wilson! Just as we say that though, there is a huge crash! That HAS to be a Safety Car! Magnussen and Almeida have come together and there is a lot of debris. Luckily, both drivers are fine! The Safety Car has come out now on lap 37. This means we will have a short sprint to the finish line!

End of lap 41: The Safety Car comes in!

Only 3 laps to go now in this race, and they will be spectacular! It looks like Simonsson and Aldenberg are slowly pulling away from the pack, with Johansson and Mastronardi fighting over the final podium spot and Mezei lurking just behind them. Mastronardi gets past Johansson! It looks like Mastronardi is definitely a little bit quicker and he is starting to pull away. Now his team mate Mezei is pressuring Johansson for 4th! Behind them there is also a big fight over 8th place between Castillo and Veres.

In the end though, the order remains the same and Simonsson wins again, ahead of Aldenberg and Mastronardi!
